SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word Version 6.0, pressing ALT+SHIFT+R (or SHIFT+F10, R) when in the Footnote Pane will reset the Separator or Continuation Separator. Pressing ALT+SHIFT+L (or SHIFT+F10, L) has no effect in the Footnote Pane. Neither ALT+SHIFT+R (or SHIFT+F10, R) nor ALT+SHIFT+L (or SHIFT+F10, L) work in the Header/Footer Pane.

In Microsoft Word for Windows versions 1.x and 2.x, pressing ALT+SHIFT+L (or SHIFT+F10, L) in The Separator, Cont. Separator, or Cont. Notice Footnote Separator pane has the same effect as pressing ALT+SHIFT+R (or SHIFT+F10, R): it resets the Separator or Continuation Notice. Similarly, pressing ALT+SHIFT+R (or SHIFT+F10, R) in the Header/Footer pane has the same effect as ALT+SHIFT+L (or SHIFT+F10, L): it activates Link to Previous.

MORE INFORMATION

The Separator, Cont. Separator, and Cont. Notice Footnote Separator panes share the icon bar with the Header/Footer pane. The Reset button in these three panes is in the same location as the Link to Previous button in the Header/Footer pane. Therefore, ALT+SHIFT+L (or SHIFT+F10, L) and ALT+SHIFT+R (or SHIFT+F10, R) have the same functionality in these window panes.
