The information in this article applies to:
When your header or footer contains a bookmark in a text box, you may receive the following error message:
Winword caused a General Protection Fault in
Module Winword.exe at 00DE:44B7
The fault occurs after you perform a full save, when you try to edit the
bookmark, or when you use the GoTo command and choose the bookmark name
used in the header or footer.
After a full save or autosave, the bookmark is stripped from the text box and no reference to it can be made. If you try to reinsert the bookmark, or reference or edit the bookmark, you will receive a general protection (GP) fault in WINWORD.EXE.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Insert the bookmark into a frame instead of using the text box.
