You can change the color of the jump terms in Microsoft Word for Windows Help by adding a JumpColor setting to the [Windows Help] section of the Microsoft Windows WIN.INI file.

Jump terms are words or phrases in Microsoft Word for Windows Help that are marked with a dotted or solid underline and appear in color (if you have a color video display). You can choose these words to move quickly to a help topic associated with those words or phrases.

To change the jump term color in Microsoft Word for Windows Help, use the following steps:

1. Open the WIN.INI file in a text editor, such as SysEdit or Notepad.

2. Locate the [Windows Help] section.

3. Add the following line to the [Windows Help] section: 

   JumpColor=[R G B]

   where [R G B] specifies the three elements of the color to be used.

4. From the File menu, choose Save, and exit Windows. Restart Windows 
   to activate the WIN.INI changes.
The R, G, and B values are integers between 0 and 255 that specify the intensities of red, green, and blue respectively. For example, the setting JumpColor=0 0 255 makes the text appear bright blue. Zero (0) turns the red and green intensities off, and 255 turns the blue intensity to its brightest level.

The JumpColor WIN.INI setting does not affect Word for Windows version 1.0, 1.1, or 1.1a; these versions of Word for Windows use Help Engine version 2.5a, which does not recognize the JumpColor setting.
