Default Paragraph Font Is Based on Installed Printer

SUMMARY

In Word version 6.0 for Windows, the default paragraph font may not seem correct. The Default Paragraph Font style performs the same function that CTRL+SPACEBAR does; it strips all direct character formatting from the selected text and allows the font applied through the style to appear. So depending on the style in use, the Default Paragraph Font style applies the font assigned to that style.

The Default Paragraph Font in the Style dialog box is always the default serif font for the printer you have installed. When you are in the Format Style dialog box, the Default Paragraph Font style doesn't have any style to reference. As a result, it uses the default serif font for the printer.
