Steps to Configure for Export

AutoCAD allows you to configure multiple plotting and printing devices. If you have not previously done so, you need to configure the TIFF Raster plotter/printer as follows:

 1. From the AutoCAD main menu, select option 5 (Configure Plotter).

 2. Select option 1 to add a plotter or printer.

 3. Select option 21 for Raster File export in 12 for MS-DOS and option 13
    in version 12 for Windows.

 4. Select option 5 for a 640 x 480 resolution.

 5. Select option 6 for PCX Zsoft format.

 6. Select option 1 for Monochrome.

 7. For best results, set the background color to match your workspace
    color. The settings are 0 for black and 255 for white.

 8. Choose N to accept the current configuration.

 9. Choose option 0 to return to AutoCAD's main menu.

10. Choose option 0 again to return to your drawing.

Steps for Exporting

1. To export your current drawing, from the File menu choose Plot or in the

   Windows version just choose the printer icon.

2. If the device name is not the same as your description for the "PCX

   Plotter," choose the device selection button, and select the proper
   description for your PCX plotting device.

3. The default filename is the name of your drawing with the extension of

   .PCX. If you would like a different filename, choose the filename button
   and enter a different filename. If you would also like to store the file
   in a different directory than the current one, change the directory
   location here.

4. To create the file, choose the Plot button.
