If you use CTRL+Q to remove a frame from a picture, and then choose Frame from the Format menu while the picture is still selected, you may receive the following error message:
Winword has caused a General Protection Fault
in module WINWORD.EXE at 0030:39D8.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
If you have removed the frame from the picture using CTRL+Q, deselect the picture. To format the picture, select Picture from the Format menu.
CTRL+Q is a shortcut key combination used to remove paragraph formats not applied by a style. If you have a framed picture selected and press CTRL+Q, this will remove the frame. The Frame option on the Format menu should not be available if the object is not framed.
