By default, the grammar checking feature in Microsoft Word for Windows checks for spelling errors as well as grammatical errors.
Checking for spelling errors during the grammatical proofing is an option you can disable. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
2. Choose the Grammar Tab.
3. Clear the "Check Spelling" check box option.
4. Choose the OK button to exit the Options
dialog box.
Word for Windows 2.x
1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
2. From the Category box, select Grammar.
3. Choose the Customize Settings button.
4. In the Grammar box, clear the Spelling Errors check box.
5. Choose the OK button.
6. Choose the OK button again to exit the Options dialog box.
