The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

A break (<BR>), placed in the middle of hyperlinked text, is removed and the text following the original break is formatted in a reduced font size and in italics when you save your HTML document. In addition, Word may display the message:

   Displaytext cannot span more than one line!

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Edit the HTML source to remove the <I>...</I>, <FONT>...</FONT> tags and insert the <BR> tag.
