In Microsoft Word for Windows, if you use the Bullets and Numbering command to insert a bullet immediately after a column break, the last paragraph in the preceding column is bulleted. If you press ENTER before inserting the bullet, the correct paragraph is bulleted.
If you type some text, insert a column break without pressing ENTER after the text, and then insert a bullet using the Bullets and Numbering command, Word for Windows treats the entire unit as a single paragraph and inserts the bullet at the start of the text preceding the column break.
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
