In Microsoft Word for Windows, if you select text using the mouse and drag to select text above and below the anchor point (the original insertion point), the position of the anchor point may change.
1. Open a document in Word for Windows.
2. Using the mouse, click the beginning of a paragraph, and drag to
select the paragraph. Do not release the left mouse button.
3. Drag repeatedly to select text above and below the anchor point. Be
sure you do not release the left mouse button at any time.
Note: This is a randomly occurring problem; you may need to repeat
steps 2 and 3 several times to observe the change in the position of
the original insertion point.
