Nested List Incorrectly Numbered in Internet Assistant

SYMPTOMS

When you import the following HTML markup into Internet Assistant, the second ordered list begins numbering where the first ordered list ended.

   <ul>
   <li> item bullet 1
   <ol>
   <li> item number 1
   <li> item number 2
   </ol>
   <li>item bullet 2, after the ol
   <ol>
   <li>item number 1 in next ol
   </ol>
   </ul>

Your results look like this:

   - item bullet 1
     1.1 item number 1
     1.2 item number 2
   - item bullet 2, after the ol
     1.3 item number 1 in next ol

Your browser will display the HTML markup correctly:

   - item bullet 1
     1. item number 1
     2. item number 2
   - item bullet 2, after the ol
     1. item number 1 in next ol

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

There is no workaround currently available.
