When you create an organization chart using the OrganizationalChartMaker macro, sometimes the macro truncates text incorrectly. (This macro is part of the MACRO60.DOT template supplied with Word for Windows; MACRO60.DOT is located in the WINWORD\MACROS subdirectory.)
To fit text in the organizational chart boxes, the macro truncates long strings (over 30 characters). If the line includes a newline character, the macro deletes that character as well. When this happens, the first line in the organizational chart box contains the first 30 characters of the first line, followed by a tab and the first 30 characters of the second line. This only happens in the first or second line of the organizational chart box. For example, the macro changes the following entry, whose first line contains more than 30 characters,

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
On the first or second line of an item, enter no more than 29 characters if the line ends with a new-line character (SHIFT+ENTER).
