Word for Windows 2.0
By design, the default toolbars that Word provides do not display in the Organizer. Even though you have customized a default toolbar, Word still considers this a default toolbar and will not provide a way for copying it between templates.
To copy a customized default toolbar to a different template using the Organizer, complete the following steps:
1. Open the template that contains the customized default toolbar.
2. From the View menu, choose Toolbars. Choose the New button to create a
new toolbar. Type in a name for the new toolbar and choose the OK
button. An empty, floating toolbar will appear on your screen, and the
Customize dialog box will open.
3. Hold down CTRL+ALT as you click and drag each toolbar button you want to
copy to the new toolbar. When finished, choose the Close button to
return to your document.
4. From the File menu, choose Templates, and then choose the Organizer
button. Select the Toolbars tab.
5. The template you are copying from should be open on one side of this
dialog box; the template you are copying to should be open on the other
side. If the template you are copying to is not open, first choose the
Close button on either the left or right side to close the current
template. This button will change to Open; choose this button. In the
File Open dialog box, choose the template directory (usually,
C:\WINWORD\TEMPLATE) and select Document Templates (*.DOT) in the List
Files Of Type box. Select the desired template and choose the OK button.
6. Highlight the toolbar in the box under the template you are copying from
and choose the Copy button. Choose OK to close the Organizer.
7. From the File menu, choose New; select your template that contains your
new toolbar; and choose the OK button.
8. From the View menu, choose Toolbars. Clear the default toolbar that you
will be replacing and check the custom toolbar that you want to use.
Choose the OK button.
In Word 6.0 for Windows, you can customize all toolbars, including the default toolbars that Word provides. You can add, remove, or rearrange Toolbar buttons by choosing Customize from the Tools menu.
