If you reformat framed text with a style (even its original style) in versions 2.x and 6.0 of Microsoft Word for Windows, Word strips the framed properties of the text and reformats it accordingly.
1. Select a portion of text.
2. From the Insert menu, choose Frame.
3. Select any portion of the text.
4. Apply a style to the text by pressing CTRL+S (CTRL+SHIFT+S
in Word for Windows 6.0) and typing the style name.
Word removes the framed properties when you apply the style.
