SGML: Buttons Displayed in Dark Gray/Black

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft SGML Author for Word, version 1.0
Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

Buttons display as dark gray or black when selected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you are using a Video Seven video driver.

WORKAROUND

Switch to the standard Windows VGA driver.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SGML Author for Word, version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
