The information in this article applies to:
When you spell check a document that has revisions, the speller replaces an incorrect word with a correctly spelled one, but then identifies the newly inserted word as misspelled.
You highlighted a portion of a word and replaced it with another word. The speller will detect and replace the misspelled word with a correctly spelled one but the newly corrected word, in combination with the portion of the revised word that is struck-through, creates another misspelled word. This is why the spell checker remains on the screen; it has detected that this new combination of letters creates another misspelled word.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Select entire words, instead of portions of words, to revise.
