Using Edit Search and Edit Go To to Search for Page Breaks

SUMMARY

You can use the following commands to search for page breaks in a Microsoft Word for Windows document.

Word for Windows version 6.0

Edit Find

From the Edit menu, choose Find and specify "^m" (without the quotation marks) in the Find What text box and choose Find Next to move the insertion point to the next hard page break in the document. Specify "^b" (without the quotation marks) for Section Break. This option can also be specified from the "Special" button and selecting "Manual Page Break" or "Section Break".

Edit Go To

From the Edit menu, choose Go To and Specify "p+1" or "+" (without the quotation marks) in the Go To text box to move the insertion point to the beginning of the first line of the next page in the document. The Edit Go To dialog box contains text describing how to do this.

Edit Find

From the Edit menu, choose Find and specify "^d" (without the quotation marks) in the Find What text box and choose Find Next to move the insertion point to the next section break or hard page break in the document.

Edit Go To

From the Edit menu, choose Go To and specify "p+1" (without the quotation marks) in the Go To text box to move the insertion point to the beginning of the first line of the next page in the document.
