The "Using WordBasic" book by WexTech Systems and Microsoft includes a disk labeled "Sample Macros for Using WordBasic." The disk contains a single template, USINGWB.DOT, with a sample WordBasic macro called Macro Manager. This macro allows you to copy a macro or group of macros from one template to another.

To use the Macro Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the USINGWB.DOT file from the Sample Macros for Using WordBasic disk to your hard disk.

  2. Open the USINGWB.DOT in Word for Windows.

  3. Move to the end of the document by pressing CTRL+END and double clicking the Double-click Here To Run The MacroManager Macro button.

To copy every macro from a source template to a destination template, follow these steps:

  1. Run the MacroManager macro.

  2. Select a template name from the source and destination template boxes.

  3. Choose the Copy All button.

To copy a single macro from a source template to a destination template, follow these steps:

  1. Run the MacroManager macro.

  2. Select a template name from the source and destination template boxes.

  3. To see a list of the macros stored in each template, choose the Update List button.

  4. Select a macro in the source template to copy.

  5. Choose the Copy button.

The Execute Only check box allows you make the resulting copies run only in the destination template. Select the Execute Only check box before choosing the Copy or Copy All buttons. Execute-only macros are listed in the Macros dialog box, but cannot be edited (the Edit button is unavailable (dimmed) if the selected macro is execute only).
