When you try to create a new template based on a wizard, you may receive the following error message:
WordBasic ERR = 7, Out of memory
This happens when you choose New from the File menu, select any wizard in
the templates list, and choose Template instead of Document.
Wizards contain a large number of AutoText entries, styles, and macros, which Word copies to the new template. These are all stored in memory until Word saves the document.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
After you choose New from the File menu, select Document instead of Template.
