WD: Cannot Paste Selection Containing Section Break into Table

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to paste text into a table containing a section break, you may receive the following error message:

   You cannot paste this selection into a table.

WORKAROUND

Use either of the following methods to work around this problem.

Method 1

Remove the section break before you copy and paste the selection into a table.

Method 2

Select the text above the section break, copy it and then paste it into the table, and then repeat this step for the text following the section break.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
