1. Q. I'd like to open my Word 4.0 documents in Word 5.0 or 5.1. How do I convert them? A. You do not need to convert Word 4.0 documents to open them in Word version 5.0 or 5.1. Open your Word 4.0 documents as you would Word 5.0 or 5.1 documents, by choosing Open from the File menu. 2. Q. How do I open a Word 5.0 or 5.1 document in Word 4.0? A. Word 4.0 reads Word 5.0 and 5.1 documents directly; no conversion is necessary. Open these documents in Word 4.0 in the usual manner.
