In the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article, if you press COMMAND+W when the Help History window is visible, both the Help History window and the Help window are closed.
To work around this problem, close the Help History window by clicking the close box in the upper-left corner of the window.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
On the Macintosh, you can close the active window by pressing COMMAND+W. If you click the File menu in any program, the shortcut key is usually listed next to the Close menu item.
Normally, only the active window is closed when you press COMMAND+W. However, if the Help History window is visible, pressing COMMAND+W closes the Help History window and the Help window.
