If you run a WordBasic macro that changes the page size for a section of your document, you may unintentionally change the margins and section break properties for the entire document.
This problem occurs when the FilePageSetup command includes the .ApplyPropsTo argument. When you run the macro, Word incorrectly changes the margins and the section break properties for the entire document to reflect the properties of the section where your insertion point was located when you ran the macro.
For example, you have the following attributes set for a document with four sections, and your insertion point is in the last section:
Section #1 - New Page section break, 2" left margin
Section #2 - Continuous section break, 1.5" left margin
Section #3 - Odd Page section break, 1" left margin
Section #4 - Even Page section break, 0.5" left margin
When you run the following macro to change the page size, all sections are
changed to Even Page section breaks, and your margins are set to .5 inch
for all pages:
Sub MAIN
FilePageSetup .PageWidth = "8.5" + Chr$(34), .PageHeight = \
"11" + Chr$(34), .ApplyPropsTo = 4
End Sub
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Word listed above. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
