  • Microsoft Word 97 for Windows
  • Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you print a selection from Word, all pages of the printed document will include the header and/or footer from the first selected section; that is, the different headers and/or footers will be substituted with the header/footer from the first selected section.

This problem occurs if the selection contains more then one section and each section has a different header and/or footer.

NOTE: This problem occurs regardless of the type of printer you are using.

WORKAROUND

Rather than printing a selection, specify the parts of sections that you want to print. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, click Print.

  2. Under Page Range, click Pages. In the Pages box, type the range of pages and sections you want to print. For example, to print from page 4 in section 2 to page 5 in section 5, type "p4s2-p5s5" (without the quotation marks).

  3. Click OK.
