The information in this article applies to:
A linked Microsoft Excel object in Word does not update after you change the source information in Microsoft Excel.
This behavior occurs if you use the Copy Picture command in Microsoft Excel and link the object in Word using the Paste Link option, or when you use the Copy command in Microsoft Excel and paste link the object as either Formatted Text or Unformatted Text in Word.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Instead of using the Copy Picture command in Microsoft Excel, use the following steps:
1. In Microsoft Excel, choose Copy from the Edit menu.
2. Open your Word document.
3. In Word, choose Paste Special from the Edit menu.
4. Choose the Paste Link option; highlight Microsoft Excel 5.0 Object,
Picture, or Bitmap; and choose the OK button.
