What Microsoft Technical Support Does Support
Microsoft Technical Support supports macros, WordBasic, and Visual Basic
for Applications in the following ways:
- We offer explanations of WordBasic and Visual Basic for Applications
syntax, functionality, and purpose.
- We explain how to create, edit, troubleshoot, and debug macros in Word.
- We identify and account for bugs in the WordBasic and Visual Basic for
Applications programming languages.
- Sometimes we can identify the source of an error message.
- We provide information about obtaining WordBasic or Visual Basic for
Applications and macro-writing resources (such as third-party books,
Microsoft Press books, CompuServe, Microsoft Consulting Services,
and so on).
- We provide some sample macro code that you can adapt for your own use.
What Microsoft Technical Support Does Not Support
Microsoft Technical Support will not provide support for the following
types of WordBasic or Visual Basic for Applications macro programming:
- We do not support macros written by third parties.
- We do not support modified versions of macros supplied with Word
for Windows in the templates or supplemental documents.
- We do not support application programming interface (API) or other
system-level calls.
