If you try to print a selection from Word for Windows that contains more than one section, and each section has different headers or footers, you may receive the error message:
Word cannot read the header or footer in this document. Save the
document in Rich Text Format, close it, and then reopen it.
Clicking OK several times may close the error message and print the
document, or it may cause your system to hang (stop responding).
To print across sections in a document, follow these steps:
1. On the File menu, click Print.
2. Click the Pages option.
3. In the Pages box, type the range of pages and sections you want to
print. For example, to print from page 4 in section 2 to page 5 in
section 5, type "p4s2-p5s5" (without the quotation marks).
4. Click OK.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem can happen with any type of printer.
