SUMMARYWhen you compile a table of contents (TOC) using TC fields or heading styles, the table of contents entries lose their character formatting. This happens because Word for Windows applies TOC styles to the entries that replace the original character formatting.
MORE INFORMATIONThe TOC field applies TOC# styles to the table entries (where "#" represents the heading level). The TOC# style formats replace any style or manual formatting you originally applied to the text. For example, the TOC# styles replace the following character formats:
