WD: Text in Cells Does Not Fill Entire Column Width in MacWord

SYMPTOMS

Text in the cells of a Microsoft Word table may wrap sooner than necessary if the space between the end of the text on a line and the boundary of the cell is larger than desired. This occurs when Space Between Cols (in the Document Insert Table Format dialog box or the Format Cells dialog box) is changed from the default of 0.111 to a larger number.

RESOLUTION

Changing the space between columns to be a value greater than 0.111, which is the default, increases the amount of unused space on either side of the cell boundaries.

Keeping the space between columns at the default of 0.111 allows you to use as much space within each cell as possible. This allows text to wrap within 0.111 inch of the cell boundary.
