SUMMARYMicrosoft Word for the Macintosh has two basic index formats, which handle subentries of a main entry differently. When using the nested format, sub- entries appear below the main entry and are indented, as shown in the following example:
Computers 3 Microsoft 2 Programs 5 Excel 5 Word 4 Works 6When using the run-in format, Word places sub-entries on the same line as the main entry with semicolons separating them, as shown in the following example:
