SUMMARY

Some fields in Word, such as IncludeText, IncludePicture, Link, and RD, require you to include the complete path for your document. To correctly specify the path for a document that is located on the Desktop, use the following syntax: 

   Macintosh HD:Desktop Folder:Document Name
If the document is located on the hard drive, use the following syntax: 

   Macintosh HD:Document Folder:Document Name
NOTE: In either case, you will need to replace each folder level and document name with the correct path.

The Desktop is the area where the trash can and hard drive icons appear. It is created by two files (Desktop DB and Desktop DF), which under normal conditions are hidden. The Desktop can be seen only when you use a program to intentionally make it visible (something like Resedit). When a document exists on the Desktop, you will see Desktop as an option when you click Open on the File menu in Word.
