Article ID: Q129244
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 6.0

SYMPTOMS

In Word 6.0 for the Macintosh, faxing with Smith Micro's MacComCenter or QuickLink II fax packages will not work. Word acts as if it's spooling the information to the fax driver, but MacComCenter does not activate itself, and no fax is sent.

CAUSE

This problem is caused by an incompatibility between Word 6.0 and these two fax products.

RESOLUTION

Update to Word version 6.0.1. To obtain Word 6.0.1, call the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561. If you are outside the United States, contact your local subsidiary. To locate your subsidiary, see the Microsoft World Wide Offices Web site at:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0.1 for the Macintosh.
