When you click Replace on the Edit menu in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh and try to use the hot-key underline accelerators, some of these designators are missing.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, COMMAND+E activates the pop-up menus for Format and Special selections using hot-key accelerators for the menu choices. Several of the hot-key accelerators that activate special search functions are implemented; however, the designators do not show on the Edit Replace menu. Hot-key accelerators are normally designated with an underline character below the letter that corresponds to the keystroke.
The affected selections with the keystrokes in parentheses are:
With no Search Options or Match Case selected:
Any Digit ("g")
Any Letter ("y")
With Pattern Matching selected:
Optional Hyphen ("y")
Character in Range ("g")
Additional query words: key command keyboard type hit
