The information in this article applies to:
If you create a document in Word for Windows using an installable font, and you then open the file in Word for the Macintosh, the installable font is displayed correctly on the screen, but when you attempt to print it, Arial, Arial Narrow, or Helvetica is printed instead.
This problem occurs if you are using the GX printer driver supplied with Apple System 7.5. It does not occur if you are using the LaserWriter printer driver version 8.1.1.
The GX driver does not copy installable fonts into the spool file. As a result, the installable fonts are not available when you print, so the system substitutes a system font instead.
If you are using the GX printer driver, restart Word and then print the document. After you restart Word, the installable fonts are available for printing.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
