SYMPTOMSWhen you scroll through a Microsoft Word document, you may see one or more of the following effects:
CAUSEThese problems occur in Normal view when you use the Macintosh Operating System Version, 8.0 with a PowerBook 3400. Apple has confirmed this to be a problem with a QuickDraw acceleration module specific to the PowerBook 3400.
WORKAROUNDTo work around these problems, use the appropriate method for your situation.
Ruler and Status BarTo scroll through your Word document without screen refresh problems, use page layout view by clicking Page Layout on the View menu.
PowerBook ToolbarTo prevent screen fluctuations, either turn off the toolbar or resize Word so it does not appear under the PowerBook toolbar.
