The information in this article applies to:
After adding the WordBasic Help option during Maintenance Mode Setup, the WordBasic Reference option does not appear on the Contents tab of the Microsoft Word Help Topics menu.
WordBasic Help was installed correctly, but Word Help does not automatically update the Help index.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows 95 version 7.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
Rerun the setup program, remove all Help files, and then rerun setup and install the help files.
1. Quit Word.
2. On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and click Windows
Explorer.
3. Locate the Word for Windows 95 folder (usually, C:\Winword).
4. Double-click Wrdbasic.hlp.
5. Click Cancel.
6. Restart Word.
The message "Preparing Helpfile For First Use" appears, and then Help
starts.
WordBasic Help should now appear in Microsoft Word Help Topics.
