SYMPTOMSWhen you try to add a menu item to a menu, the menu bar is unavailable.
CAUSEThis functionality is by design and is different from earlier versions of Microsoft Word for the Macintosh.
RESOLUTIONTo customize the menu bar or to add menu commands to a menu, follow these steps:
