WD98: Table Borders Lost When Table Pasted or Linked

• Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition

SYMPTOMS

The outside and some interior borders on your table are missing after you paste or paste link the table as a Picture or as Word Document object.

WORKAROUND

Use one of the following workarounds to paste your table with borders.

Method 1: Link the Table as Formatted Text (RTF)

1. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.

2. Select Paste Link.

3. In the As list, click Formatted Text (RTF), and then click OK.

Method 2: Copy and Paste the Table into the Apple Scrapbook

1. Copy the table by selecting it and then click Copy on the Edit menu.

2. Start the Apple Scrapbook.

3. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

   NOTE: You will not see any borders on the table in the Scrapbook.

4. Drag the result within the Apple Scrapbook to a blank area on the Word Document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
