SUMMARY

If you purchased Word version 2.x for Windows on or after September 15, 1993, you are eligible to obtain a free upgrade to Word version 6.0 for Windows. This is true, regardless of whether you obtained Word 2.x as a standalone retail package or as part of the Microsoft Office for Windows suite of products.

If Word 2.x was pre-installed on your computer when you purchased it, you are not eligible for the free upgrade to Word 6.0.
