When you use a shortcut key to switch to Word, it starts Word the first time you use the shortcut key, but if you use it a second time, nothing happens. The focus switches away from the program you're working in, but Word does not appear. Shortcut keys for other applications seem to work correctly.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows 95 version 7.0 and 7.0a. This problem does not occur in Word 97 for Windows because the Shortcut key property is no longer available.
Press ALT+TAB to scroll between Word and any other open applications.
You can create a shortcut key for any application by first creating a shortcut to the application, and then clicking the icon with the right mouse button. Click Properties and then click the Shortcut tab. Click in the Shortcut key box and press the keystrokes you want to use. Click OK.
