The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Word for Windows, the Create Envelope command truncates text that follows a tab on any line of a mailing address.
You can select the address in your document before choosing Create Envelope (on the tool bar or from the Tools menu), or you can select nothing in the document, and allow the Create Envelope command to search for the address. In either case, if any line in the address contains a tab, the text on that line that follows the tab is truncated.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Word for Windows listed above. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
To work around this problem, search for tabs, and replace any tabs within your mailing address with spaces before you choose the Create Envelope command. After you create the envelope, search for the spaces and replace them with tabs.
