ID: Q141007

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you run the automatic installation in Actstart.dot, a template provided in Act! Tools, you get the following error message:

   WordBasic Err=53
   File Not Found

CAUSE

The error occurs when the User-Dot-Path setting in the Winword6.ini file does not contain a backslash (\) at the end of the path. For example, the above error occurs when the User-Dot-Path setting looks like this:

   User-Dot-Path=C:\Winword\Template

RESOLUTION

Using a text editor such as Notepad, edit the Winword6.ini file and add the ending backslash (\) to the User-Dot-Path so that it looks like this:

   User-Dot-Path=C:\Winword\Template\

MORE INFORMATION

Word Setup adds the User-Dot-Path setting to the Winword6.ini without the ending backslash. When you modify the User Templates location, Word adds an ending backslash to the path. (To locate this option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then select the File Locations tab.)
