SYMPTOMS
========

When you double-click the MSN icon to connect to MSN, The Microsoft Network, you
may receive the following message:

   Select the Dial-Up Networking connection to use to dial the Internet

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if your MSN connection settings are not properly
configured to use the MSN access numbers.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue and connect normally to MSN, follow these steps:

1. Use the right mouse button to click the MSN icon on the desktop, and then
   click Connection Settings on the menu that appears.

2. Make sure the connection settings are set to "MSN is my dial-up Internet
   access provider."

3. Click Access Numbers.

4. Select access numbers in your area for the primary and backup numbers.

5. Click OK, and then click OK again to finish the settings.

6. Double-click the MSN icon.
