XL4: Cell Pattern Format Not Copied to Inserted CellID: Q104306
|
In Microsoft Excel version 4.0, when you insert a cell, row, the pattern format is not copied from an adjacent cell if the new cell is inserted between two cells that contain different pattern formatting.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel version 5.0.
In Microsoft Excel, when you insert a cell, row, or column, all cell
formats are copied from the cell above the inserted cell (when you are
shifting cells down or inserting a row) or to the left of the inserted cell
(when you are shifting cells right or inserting a column).
The exception to this rule is the behavior described above; cell pattern
formatting may not be copied to inserted cells in Microsoft Excel version
4.0.
