XL5: "Using Pivot Tables" Demo in Help Does Not Finish

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel version 5.0, the "Creating a Pivot Table by Combining Data from Multiple Consolidation Ranges" demo included in Examples and Demos on the Help menu, may fail to finish and you may receive the following error message:

You have not specified any source ranges for your pivot table. Type or select at least one range in the Ranges box before choosing Next or Finish.

On the Help menu, when you click Examples And Demos, you click Using Pivot Tables, and you then click "Creating a Pivot Table by Combining Data from Multiple Consolidation Ranges," if you then click the Demo button to start the demo, the demo is interrupted in step 2b of 4 and does not finish. When you click OK or Help, nothing appears to happen. To continue, you must click Close at the bottom of the screen, which exits the demo mode, and then click OK. You are able to finish the example manually, but no further interactive demo steps are displayed. You then receive the error message described above.
