When you edit an embedded Microsoft Excel 5.0 chart in an OLE 2.0 client application, such as Microsoft Word for Windows version 6.0, or Microsoft Powerpoint for Windows version 4.0, one or more of the following symptoms may occur:
The OLE 2.0 object changes size.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel version 5.0c for Windows.
Cell gridlines are displayed when you finish editing your chart.
This behavior is by design. Copying a chart will embed all worksheet information including the row and column formatting.
To embed a chart object in another application without displaying the cells of a worksheet below an embedded chart, do either one of the following:
- If the client application has commands for cropping pictures or
objects, use these commands after you activate the embedded chart
object in the client application.
-or-
- Embed a chart that is located on a chart sheet instead of an embedded
chart.
