The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Excel version 5.0, when you view the information for system dynamic link libraries (DLLs) in Microsoft System Information for Windows, some of the entries may not be correctly aligned. DLLs with version numbers that contain many digits may cause the Date, Size, and In Memory fields to be displayed in columns further to the right than expected.
This misalignment is less likely to occur if you are running Microsoft Windows with a high video resolution (such as 1024x768)--with this resolution, more text can be displayed in the Microsoft System Information for Windows dialog box.
Although the way the information is displayed may make it hard to read, the information is accurate.
1. In Windows Setup, change your video driver to VGA. (This step is not
necessary but will make the misalignment more apparent.)
2. Start Microsoft Excel version 5.0.
3. From the Help menu, choose About Microsoft Excel.
4. In the About Microsoft Excel dialog box, choose the System Info button.
5. From the Choose A Category list, choose System DLL's.
6. Check the list for MMP.DLL (or any DLL with a long version number).
Note that the long version number causes the Date field to be shifted to the Size column. The expected behavior indicates that columns should adjust to the widest entry of each column.
