ACC: LimitToList Property Set to Yes Needs a Unique Entry

SYMPTOMS

If the LimitToList property of a combo box is set to Yes, and you type a portion of an entry into the combo box and press ENTER, you may receive the following error message:


   In Microsoft Access 7.0 and 97: 

The text you entered isn't an item in the list.


   In Microsoft Access 1.x and 2.0: 

The text you enter must match an entry in the list.


CAUSE

The error occurs because there are duplicates in the list. For example, if you enter the value "co" in the combo box and the values "conf" and "cond" are in the drop-down list, the error occurs.
