SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you add a routing slip to your workbook and you use the Address dialog box to add your name as a recipient, you receive a general protection (GP) fault when you send the file.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you route a document and add yourself as a recipient if the Return When Done check box is selected in the Routing Slip dialog box.

WORKAROUND

To avoid receiving a GP fault when you add a routing slip to your workbook, clear the Return When Done check box, and then add yourself to the end of the To list in the Routing Slip dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

When you select the Return When Done check box in the Routing Slip dialog box, a copy of the routed workbook is sent back to you after the last recipient closes it. When you route a workbook, if the routed workbook is returned to you, the recipients' names are unavailable (dimmed), but they are displayed to show to whom the workbook was routed.
