The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Excel, when you specify a number of copies to be printed in the Printer Setup dialog box, this number is not updated in the Print dialog box (from the File menu, choose Print). However, the number of copies you specify in the Printer Setup dialog box in Microsoft Excel IS passed to the Printers Setup dialog box in Windows Control Panel and will be applied to any new workbooks you create in Microsoft Excel. This setting will also be used by other Windows applications.
When you choose the Options button in the Page Setup dialog box (choose Page Setup from the File menu), the changes you make will affect only the current worksheet. Although this dialog box resembles the Windows Printer Setup dialog box, it will affect only the current document (while the Printer Setup dialog box will affect all documents, regardless of the application).
1. In cell A1 of a new worksheet, type "Test".
2. From the File menu, choose Print and choose the Printer Setup button.
3. In the Printer Setup dialog box, choose the Setup button.
4. Change the number of copies to 2.
5. Choose the OK button twice.
6. Choose the Print button (or the Preview button if you do not want to
actually print a copy of your document).
7. Select File and choose Print (to bring up the dialog box again).
In the current Workbook, the number of copies in the Print dialog box will remain 1 and will not change (even when you save the workbook, and close and reopen it); however, the Copies setting for all subsequent workbooks will be updated to 2.
